Employee Wellbeing Matters

Staff at TH March have taken matters into their own hands when it comes to health and wellbeing with a company-wide initiative that has been fully supported by the board of directors.

It all began several months ago when a small group of employees got together with the aim of supporting physical and mental health and wellbeing within the organisation.

Initially the idea, which is now being rolled out at all TH March offices across the UK, was trialled at the company’s National Service Centre in Yelverton, Devon. This is the company’s largest office where 75 people are employed.

An outside seating area was added, fresh fruit made available for free, a ping pong table was purchased and maps showing planned lunchtime walking routes in the surrounding countryside were added to the staff noticeboard. In addition more plants were added around the office and metal water bottles given away free to staff thus avoiding unnecessary plastic.

 

Last week in support of World Mental Health Awareness Day, staff were able to take part in free yoga sessions and ping pong competitions were held too.

HR Manager Jo Morgan said:
“We are really pleased with the support the Wellbeing initiative has received from both staff and managers across the company. Wellbeing at Work is high on our agenda and all ideas come from staff for staff. It’s been a great week of activities in support of World Mental Health Awareness Day and the idea as a whole, something we will take into the future.”
