Working out regularly not only has physical health benefits, but also plays a sizable role in your mental health. During the coronavirus pandemic, finding ways to exercise may have become more difficult, but it’s important to maintain your health regardless.
Consider these simple exercises, which can be done in the comfort of your own home:
- Step-ups—These exercises will improve overall fitness and strength. They are true to their name and simply require you to step up and down between the floor and a platform, such as a sturdy box.
- Calf-raises—Calf-raises involve small movements, but the benefits can spread throughout other parts of your body. To do a calf raise, stand up straight and then simply raise your heels until you are standing on your toes. Use a wall to help with your balance if necessary.
- Single-leg stands—These are easy and natural to do. As the name implies, when you are getting up from a chair or couch, try standing up using only one leg. These exercises will improve your lower-body strength.
