Spring Cleaning Tips

Although outdoor temperatures might still be cold, spring is not far off. This means spring cleaning season is almost here.

Making your home cleaner this season might be a more daunting task than usual. With many people working from home, not welcoming guests and sheltering in place for extended periods of time, it is possible that a significant amount of clutter may have been accrued. With that in mind, consider these spring cleaning tips:

  • Be realistic about sentimental items—One key step to ridding your home of clutter is getting rid of things that you don’t use. If you haven’t needed or used something in the past year, consider getting rid of it.
  • Consider storage—There may be some possessions that you haven’t used in some time, but are still necessary to hang on to. In these situations, it may be worth looking into external storage space.
  • Cut your wardrobe—Look through your clothes and think about what you haven’t worn throughout an entire year. If you have multiple heavy coats, but you haven’t worn some of them throughout an entire winter, consider donating or selling them.
  • Minimise duplicates—Check to see if you unnecessarily have multiples of the same item, such as cooking equipment and electronic devices.
