Specialist insurance broker TH March has again been named as one of the best places to work in the country.
The nationwide survey by Insurance Business UK (IBUK) asked staff in the industry to rate their employers’ performance, based on everything from compensation matters and benefits to diversity, employee development and culture.
The process to become a Top Insurance Employer involves two phases, including an anonymous survey of about what people look for when choosing employment. Staff were asked to rate each attribute from 1 to 5, with 1 being poor and 5 being excellent. Insurance Business UK then calculated the average response.
TH March achieved an 86.5 per cent average satisfaction rating (building from the previous year’s 80 per cent average), making it a Top Insurance Employer for 2023.
Jo Morgan, Associate Director HR at TH March, said “We are so pleased to have been awarded the Top Insurance Employer Award for a third time! For TH March to be consistently recognised by its employees as a great company to work speaks volumes.
I truly believe happy employees are the core of a successful company and we will continue to engage, support and develop our staff so that they are able to provide the best possible service to our clients in their time of need.”
Throughout 2022, TH March celebrated its 135th anniversary year. The firm offers a diverse range of exciting career opportunities in a supportive environment that encourages role specific professional qualifications and CPD.
The good career prospects are backed with its own wellbeing committee, made up of volunteers from across the company who raise awareness on issues, such as work-life balance. A team of fully trained Mental Health First Aiders are also on hand and there are various Employee Assistance Programmes which include access to a variety of confidential tools for general health and wellbeing tips plus further mental health support.
Recently, TH March added an Employee Supported Volunteering Programme which gives staff the opportunity to volunteer during working hours and contribute time to make a positive difference within the local communities. Volunteering drives collaboration and inclusion, increases social health and wellbeing and broadens employees’ horizons as they work with people from diverse backgrounds and sectors and improves the lives of individuals within local communities which ultimately supports the development of robust and resilient societies.
Simon Dawe, Managing Director, at TH March comments “We are delighted once again to have received this recognition. After an extended turbulent period for us all with the Coronavirus pandemic and now economic pressures in many areas of society affecting us all, we’ve seen continued fantastic results from both a business and company culture.
As the IBUK survey is based on metrics in line with our goal to make employees happy (including benefits, incentives, employee development, culture, and much more), this recognition demonstrates our commitment to keeping our people happy.”
