TH March Team Steps Out for St Luke’s Hospice

A 17-strong all-female TH March team is heading out into the night to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

HR Associate Director Jo Morgan and colleagues are taking part in the charity’s Midnight Walk on Friday 20 August.

The hugely popular event – cancelled last year because of lockdown restrictions – raises vital funds to help St Luke’s provide its specialist end-of-life care for terminally ill people at home, in hospital and at its site in Turnchapel. Thousands of women are expected to turn out for the walk, which is a choice of a five, 10 or 15-mile route across Plymouth.

Staff from TH March took part in the event in 2017 and 2019. They are delighted to be going the distance again this year and are looking forward to doing their bit to help a charity close to their hearts.

“A lot of us have been touched personally by St Luke’s Hospice,” says Jo Morgan. “It’s an unbelievably important cause and we’re only too happy to take part again this year.

“Doing the walk will be a challenge for us all but we are all looking forward to it. We’re a close-knit team and we’ll help to motivate each other along the routes. We thoroughly enjoyed the event when we did it in 2017 and 2019. It’s such a great, fun way to raise money for a really special charity.”

St Luke’s popular Midnight Walk is an opportunity for women and girls of all ages to come together and pay tribute to relatives and friends who are gone but not forgotten.

This year, the ladies will set out from Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park Stadium, taking on their choice of route across the city in their brightly coloured t-shirts, adorned with the names of the loved ones whose memory they are honouring.

The TH March team is hoping to hit their fundraising target of £1,500 – the same total they managed to raise in 2019. They have already received a string of generous donations and are calling for even more kind-hearted support to help them reach their goal.
