Here are just some of the faces that work behind the scenes to make sure we give you the best possible service and support we can.
Simon is Managing Director for TH March. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Broker.
Simon’s career in insurance began in 1997 when he joined TH March and first worked in our Plymouth office, mainly in the Commercial Department, for six years.
He was promoted to Account Executive in 2003 and relocated to our Birmingham office and subsequently promoted to Associate Director and then naturally progressed to a Regional Director role. In 2018 Simon was appointed as Sales Director.
As part of his ongoing Professional Development, Simon gained his CII Diploma in 2006 and his ACII in 2019. In June 2022, Simon was appointed Managing Director.
He is a Guardian for Birmingham’s Assay Office and likes to spend time with his wife and two teenage children – both of whom are heavily involved in various sports, and he also coaches Redditch United’s U18s men’s football team.
BA, MSc, FCI
Richard is our Technical Director and also manages the TH March Glasgow office and is responsible for a portfolio including clients in Scotland, Northern England, Northern Ireland and Eire.
After completing his degree in Business Management, Richard joined Stenhouse/Aon where he worked in the Technical Audit Department, gaining his ACII, prior to joining TH March in 1989.
As part of his ongoing Professional Development, Richard successfully attained Chartered Insurance Broker status and the FCII distinction before going on to complete an MSc in Risk Management & Insurance at Glasgow Caledonian University.
Richard has also been awarded the title of Chartered Insurance Risk Manager from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
BA, ACMA, CGMA
Karen is Finance Director for TH March. She joined TH March in 2011 with a BA (Hons) Business degree with a background in retail.
Karen qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2013, shortly followed by becoming Financial Controller.
In 2019 she became an Associate Director before being promoted to Finance Director in 2022.
When Karen’s not busy problem solving, she can be found spending time with her children.
Peter is TH March’s compliance director. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, holding the title of Chartered Insurance Broker.
His career in insurance began in 1988 when he joined TH March in our Plymouth office, training in the commercial department. He then went on to work in the personal insurances team, becoming the personal insurances team manager in 2000. A move to claims manager came in 2011.
In 2014, Peter became TH March’s compliance manager and was promoted to associate director in 2019 before becoming compliance director in 2022. Peter gained his diploma in insurance in 2003 and ACII and chartered insurance broker status in 2019.
Mark is a Non Executive Director and remains Chairman after a long standing career as Broking Director for the TH March Jewellers Block account.
He joined TH March in Plymouth Devon in 1987 with responsibilities in the commercial department before moving up to London in 1992. Since that time along with facilitating the operation of the company’s Lloyd’s markets Mark has dealt specifically with Jewellers block insurance and its associated products.
Mark has a BTEC in business studies, is ACII qualified and a Chartered Insurance Broker. Before joining TH March, Mark spent eight years at Commercial Union, dealing with all aspects of commercial insurance.
MA, MSc, ACII
Michael is a Non Executive Director, following his long career with us.
He joined TH March in 1972, coming from a research background in molecular genetics. He worked initially in London in Jewellers Block, general commercial and life departments, before moving to the Plymouth office where he completed his Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute. In 1978 he moved to the Birmingham office for 10 years before returning to London in 1988.
Michael was the 3rd generation of his family to hold the post of Managing Director. His grandfather joined the firm’s founder, Thomas H March, in 1905, with his father taking over the role on his grandfathers death in 1960.
