Two colleagues at TH March have achieved a significant professional milestone, with Jessica Wright and Jade Swabey both completing the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Advanced Diploma in Insurance and gaining their ACII qualifications. Their achievements reflect a shared commitment to professional development and take the number of ACII-qualified colleagues at TH March to 7% of the workforce.

The ACII designation is a widely recognised mark of advanced insurance knowledge and professional expertise. The Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Insurance develops technical understanding and the ability to apply that knowledge in practice, supporting professionals looking to progress into specialist, managerial and leadership roles.

For Jessica and Jade, achieving the qualification represents a considerable personal accomplishment, requiring dedication, hard work and a commitment to learning alongside their day-to-day responsibilities.

Both Jessica and Jade began their careers at TH March through apprenticeships, making their ACII achievements an especially meaningful milestone in their professional journeys. Having joined the business at the start of their careers, they have continued to build their knowledge, gain experience and progress into roles of greater responsibility. Their journeys demonstrate how an apprenticeship can provide the foundations for a long-term career in insurance, with opportunities to keep learning, develop specialist expertise and achieve professional qualifications along the way.

Recognising individual achievement

Jessica Wright, Commercial Account Handler at TH March, has continued to build her career and professional knowledge since joining the business through an apprenticeship. Her journey has included developing her skills across different areas of the business and progressing through CII qualifications, demonstrating the value of continued learning and the opportunities available to people looking to build a career in insurance.

Jessica’s ACII achievement adds to her professional development to date, following her recognition as Young Achiever at the 2025 Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society of Plymouth & Cornwall annual awards. It is another milestone in a career shaped by her commitment to learning, contributing to her team and supporting TH March’s clients.

Jessica said:

“Completing my ACII and achieving Chartered Insurance Broker status has been a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey. Our graduation ceremony at Central Hall Westminster in London was an unforgettable day of celebration and felt like real recognition of the many hours of study invested over the past eight years.

We had formal photographs taken in our caps and gowns, and our awards were presented by Callum Beaton FCII, President of the Chartered Insurance Institute, in the Great Hall. We also took the CII Oath and had the opportunity to network with fellow graduates. The CII made it a very special occasion for us all to celebrate together.

Achieving my ACII has been an excellent opportunity to further my career, meet other professionals across the insurance and broking world, and gain valuable insight into a thriving profession. Not only will it help me better support my clients in my role, but I also hope it will contribute to strengthening consumer confidence in our industry.”

Jade Swabey, Claims Team Leader, has also demonstrated a strong commitment to developing her expertise and taking on new challenges. Alongside her ACII achievement, Jade has recently been selected for the CII New Generation Programme, a year-long development initiative bringing together 60 emerging professionals from across insurance and financial services.

The programme will give Jade opportunities to broaden her industry knowledge, develop her leadership and presentation skills, build relationships with professionals across the sector and contribute to discussions about the future of insurance. Through collaborative projects and engagement with senior industry, regulatory and policy figures, she will be able to explore new perspectives and bring valuable insights back to TH March.

“Achieving my ACII is something I’m incredibly proud of, both professionally and personally. I completed the qualification alongside my colleague Jessica, and having someone to share the experience with made a huge difference. We supported and encouraged each other throughout, with invaluable guidance from Adrian Toomey along the way.

Having chosen not to attend university because I wasn’t sure which path I wanted to take, completing this degree-level qualification is an achievement I never imagined I’d accomplish. Attending the graduation ceremony at Central Hall Westminster in London was when it all felt real, giving me the opportunity to reflect on how far I’d come.

It’s one of my proudest achievements and a reminder that there are many different routes to success.”

Both achievements highlight the ambition and capability within TH March’s teams, while demonstrating how investing in professional development can support individual progression and strengthen the wider business.

Investing in our people, investing in our future

As an employee-owned business, TH March believes its people are fundamental to its long-term success. Employee ownership gives colleagues a shared stake in the future of the business, with a culture built around collaboration, shared responsibility and the contribution everyone makes.

Supporting colleagues to gain professional qualifications, develop new skills and explore opportunities for progression is an important part of that commitment. It helps people build confidence and expertise in their roles while strengthening the collective knowledge that underpins the service TH March provides to its clients and the specialist industries it supports.

With 7% of colleagues now holding the ACII qualification, Jessica and Jade’s success reflects the depth of professional expertise within the business and its ongoing commitment to developing talent and creating opportunities for colleagues to grow throughout their careers. Congratulations to Jessica and Jade on this fantastic achievement. Their dedication is something to celebrate, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to develop their careers and contribute to TH March and the wider insurance profession.
