The Birmingham Office got busy during National Happiness at Work Week and opened up the office for a Macmillan Coffee Morning. The staff pulled through, with a massive spread available for purchase on the day of home baked goodies, cakes, biscuits, and gluten-free treats! Open from 10am, the turnout was a lot higher than expected, with staff from neighbouring offices all attending to get in on the sweet festivities and to donate to a worthwhile charity which has helped the loved ones of many in the Birmingham Office. In the end, TH March raised an amazing £157 as a result of the event, through cash and online donations to the cause.
Serena, the main organiser of the event and team leader said “It was a pleasure to contribute towards something that so many loved ones of people in the office have been supported by. It’s also nice that it brings together the sense of community spirit within the building, rather than simply within the office.”
At the moment, over 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK – this is projected to rise to 4 million by 2030. Macmillan help by raising money that goes towards scientific research, support for those suffering from the disease as well as vital cancer services. In 2023, they:
