On Friday 30th June 2023, Simon Dawe Managing Director of TH March joined the BATF and other Birmingham based businesses to help raise over £9000 for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
The 19-person strong team came together to participate in the annual Birmingham Dragon Boat Race to raise much-needed money for the local children’s hospital. The team, comprised of the British Allied Trades Federation (BATF), National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and Giftware Association (GA) staff as well as NAJ members who contested in three heats through the canals of Birmingham city.
Representatives from Sonny’s Jewellers, JQ Diamond, Hockley Mint, Titcombe Bespoke, J Brookes Design and Paycare also helped ensure significant money was raised on the day, and a competitive time was recorded in the boat.
Thanks to the generous support, the team raised more than £9,000 on the day, adding to the impressive £259,000 total raised across the event.
Louise Hadfield, BATF Head of Central Services said: “Thank you to everyone who generously donated their time and money to support a vital charity. We are grateful for having such a generous membership who are always willing to support a great cause.”
Employer-supported volunteering (ESV) gives employees at TH March Group the opportunity to volunteer during working hours and contribute their time to make a positive difference within our local communities. Staff are allocated one day (paid) per year (Jan-Dec) to volunteer.
Simon Dawe, Managing Director TH March said: “Supporting Children’s charities is very close to my heart, so I was delighted to be able to take part in raising money for such a great cause and institute. It was a fantastic day, which was really enjoyed by everyone in our team and the effort put into the races was clearly evident!”
