Staff at TH March’s Plymouth office have kicked off 2026 with an amazing start – managing to clock in an amazing 122.5 hours of employer supported volunteering since the start of January.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting the local community, team members have dedicated their time to a range of impactful organisations, including Woodside Animal Sanctuary, Plymouth Foodbank, and Shekinah.

Supporting Animal Welfare at Woodside

In February, several members of the team returned after their visit last year to lend their support to Woodside Animal Sanctuary, a charity devoted to rescuing and rehoming vulnerable animals across Devon. On the 10th of February, Megan Ellis, Eling Lai, and Nikki Hobden spent the day assisting with the day-to-day care of animals, helping staff maintain clean and safe environments while ensuring the animals received attention and enrichment.

Jo Federico followed on the 13th February, continuing the team’s efforts by supporting sanctuary operations. Volunteering at Woodside plays a vital role in helping the organisation manage its resources, allowing more focus on animal rehabilitation and rehoming.

Helping Tackle Food Poverty with Plymouth Foodbank

The team also contributed their time to Plymouth Foodbank, an organisation providing emergency food supplies to individuals and families in crisis. On the 11th of February, Rachel Keyworth supported the foodbank’s operations, helping sort donations and prepare parcels for distribution.

Later in the month, on the 25th February, Stacey Sharp and Alison Thompson continued this work, assisting with the packing and organisation of essential food supplies. Their efforts directly contributed to ensuring that those facing hardship in the local community received vital support.

Making a Difference at Shekinah

Continuing into March, Jemma Wheeler and Sarah Jenner volunteered with Shekinah on the 17th of March. Shekinah is a Plymouth-based charity that works to support people experiencing homelessness, social exclusion, and other complex challenges. Their volunteering day involved hands-on support, helping the organisation deliver its services and maintain welcoming spaces for those in need.

Their contribution reflects the wider impact of volunteering—not only providing practical assistance but also helping foster dignity and connection within the community.

TH March’s strong start to the year highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back. Through its employer-supported volunteering programme, staff are actively encouraged to step away from their desks and make a tangible difference in their communities.

By supporting a diverse range of local charities, from animal welfare to food security and social inclusion, TH March continues to demonstrate that its values extend beyond business—placing people, compassion, and community at the heart of what it does.

With such an impressive first quarter, the Plymouth team has set a high standard for the rest of 2026, showing how collective effort can create meaningful change.
