TH March Regional Development Manager – Manchester, Peter Watson, has once again put his golf clubs to good use, raising an impressive £8,002 for Willow Wood Hospice through his annual golf challenge.
Peter was up bright and early for this year’s event, with a 4.30am start at Romiley Golf Club, joined by the club’s Captain and a Trustee from Willow Wood Hospice.
The golf day raised a substantial amount through sponsorship, with a generous donation from the F.A.F Charitable Trust helping to bring the overall amount raised to an incredible £8,002!
The F.A.F Charitable Trust was established in 1982 by Roger Ferraro, former Managing Director of TH March, in memory of his father and one of TH March’s founders, Frederick Alexander Ferraro, hence the name The F.A.F Charitable Trust.
Progressive even from its start, in recent years the Trust has increased its support for TH March people in their fundraising efforts, enabling them to make a meaningful difference in their local communities.
It’s the second year that Peter has raised money for Willow Wood Hospice through the challenge. Last year’s event raised £6,500, while Peter has also previously taken part in the challenge to raise funds for Prostate Cancer, raising around £7,000 for that cause over two years.
Peter said:
“I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to raise £8,002 for Willow Wood Hospice this year. They do such important work in our local community, so it’s a charity that means a lot to us.
“To increase on last year’s total is fantastic, and I’d like to thank everyone who donated and supported the event, as well as the F.A.F Charitable Trust for matching part of what we raised. It’s great to see everyone’s efforts come together to make such a worthwhile contribution.
“The 4.30am start was certainly an early one, but when you’re raising money for a great cause, it’s well worth getting out of bed for!”
The funds will support Willow Wood Hospice in providing specialist care and support to local people and their families.
